AOL Launches A Better Mobile Portal
Not long after the Yahoo-inspired relaunch of AOL.com, the company has introduced a new beta mobile WAP portal that heavily emphasizes its local content assets. It features popular services such as search, AIM, MapQuest, AOL CityGuide, Moviefone, a mobile RSS reader (My AOL Favorites), among others. The new mobile portal is comparable in some respects to the recently relaunched MSN mobile portal, however it offers a broader array of services. AOL independently offers various mobile flavors of MapQuest, which is extremely popular in its own right.
