Google: Actually, Dashes Aren’t The Same As Underscores Yet
Matt Cutts of Google informed us that Stephan Spencer's report at News.com that Google now treats underscores as word separators to not be 100% correct.
Matt explains that he is having "someone looking at that now," but Matt "wouldn’t consider it a completely done deal at this point." Meaning that currently, Google is not treating underscores as word separators, but they may just do that in the future.
