We have added a few new features to the Pandia news search portal that should interest news junkies.

The Newsfinder search form pull down menu now lets you choose between the four major news search engines: Google News, Yahoo! News, Live News and Ask News. Given that some blogs often have up-to-date commentary on recent news, you may also select Google Blog Search.

Top news of the day

The main news headlines section is now based on our own selection of news sources. The mix will change over time, but right now we fetch headlines from Google News, Yahoo! News, MSNBC, BBC, CNN, the New York Times, RocketNews, France24, UK TimesOnline.

You may also subscribe to this combined feed directly using the following URL: http://app.feeddigest.com/digest3/G2GP7GGC8C.rss.

Headlines from the social web

But that’s not all. If you find traditional news channels boring and too predictable, you will find a social web buzz feed in the left hand column of section two of the Newsfinder page.
